Some very good news for all of you that are self-employed or who have clients that are self-employed: The House of Commons committee that is overlooking the CV-19 financial support legislation yesterday demanded that ‘the Secretary of State must, by regulation, introduce a scheme of statutory self-employment pay’. It goes on to say that ‘The scheme must make provision for payments to be made out of public funds to and individuals who are (a) self-employed or (b) freelancers’. This is being debated in parliament now and I shall update you as soon as I have any further details.
